RED RIVER GORGE ENGAGEMENT

I first met Amanda in elementary school, but we never had the same homeroom teacher, so it wasn’t until we sat next to each other in Mrs.Poindexter’s 6th grade algebra class that we realized how similar we are. A few weeks into school, we were at each other’s houses every weekend doing the cinnamon challenge, playing Just Dance for hours on end, and matching our graphic t’s and knee high rainbow socks everyday of school. Over the last 11 years, Amanda has continued to be one of my closest friends, my most treasured companions, and my continuous source of affirmation and grounding. She met Reid a little over 2 years in the middle our time at college together. I will never forget seeing this precious friend I have had for so long completely light up when describing this wonderful man she had just met. As maid of honor in their wedding, I feel like I have lots of weight on this situation, but I can attest to just how truly much these two belong together. When I first met Reid, I quite literally thought that Amanda had been cloned into a male…from the way they laugh, to the way they pull pun-y jokes out of nowhere, I could not have designed a better match for my sweet Amanda. I am so honored that I got the chance to photograph their engagement, just a few weeks before their wedding, and I cannot WAIT to celebrate their marriage THIS MONTH! AH!

Their engagement session on the Auxier Ridge Trail at Red River Gorge was so special on a very rare low humidity and moderately temperate Kentucky summer evening. There was lots of dusting butts off of dirt, dancing around to Ed Sheeran, reading old journals on top of an overlook (where Reid first told Amanda he loved her….tears), and building a fire together just before sunset. Yeah…I keep pinching myself too, but this really happened. Proof is below
